About Mike Brodeur

Mike Brodeur grew up in Calgary and fell in love with the game at a young age. His journey took him from minor hockey standout to the NHL, shaped by determination, adversity, and the people who believed in him along the way.

Career highlights include:

  • Drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks

  • Playoff MVP, Top Goaltender, and National Champion with the Camrose Kodiaks

  • Led the WHL in save percentage (.929) with the Moose Jaw Warriors

  • ECHL All-Star, AHL All-Star, and Calder Cup Champion

  • Made his NHL debut with the Ottawa Senators, recording a shutout and a .967 save percentage in his first three games

After multiple injuries and concussions ended his playing career, Mike found healing through meditation and community, becoming a certified instructor and full-time coach. His coaching path has been hands-on and impactful, including:

  • Goaltending Coach for the Prince Albert Raiders (WHL) – part of a WHL Championship team

  • Assistant Coach, Goalie Coach, and Video Coach for the Fort McMurray Oil Barons (AJHL)

These roles, combined with his pro playing career, have shaped Mike’s ability to connect with athletes, develop talent, and foster environments where goalies can thrive both technically and personally. His experience has shaped a humble and holistic approach to development that focuses just as much on who the goalie is as a person as what they can do on the ice.
